NS8 Kanzlei Rosenberg - Private secretariat of Alfred Rosenberg
Overview
During the war, Alfred Rosenberg remained in Berlin with almost all of his offices. Despite some losses during the heavy bombing raids in November 1943, most of the files from Rosenberg's office appear to have been preserved. The largest part of the collection contains administrative matters and correspondence, but some areas touch on relevant topics such as the activities of the Einsatzstab (ERR) or the so-called "Hohe Schule", for which extensive book collections were confiscated in the occupied territories.
Further documents from Rosenberg's offices are held by the Nederlands Instituut voor Oorlogsdokumentatie (NIOD) in Amsterdam and the Yivo Institute for Jewish Research in New York. Books and journals from Rosenberg's offices are listed in the Hoover Institute and Library and the Library of Congress, Washington.
